Mail Delivery

Fall has arrived!  Heck, it's almost winter at times--tonight's lows will be in the low to mid 30s. Daytime temps usually reach the low to mid 60s, and it takes a long time to get there.

Look what else arrived last week:
Julie of Quilter Behind the Barn Door (formerly Through the Barn Door) celebrated her 175th post with a giveaway and I won the selvages!  I've been slowly collecting them for the past year or so with no particular project in mind yet, and this bag from Julie has probably doubled my collection.

This is how much I had before Julie's giveaway:

And now look how much:
She just recently attended a Quilt Show, and has several posts of eye candy, so you should treat yourself to a look at them. And take a look at her header--she's made some beautiful little autumn pumpkin quilts.

I also won this adorable handmade pumpkin girl from Jeanne, a Halloween Artist:
Is she not exquisite?  She stands about 8 inches tall and the detail is awesome.  Jeanne has  a blog called The Candy Corn Chronicles and has more items on eBay. Even if you're not a Halloween geek yourself, her blog is a feast for the eyes.

Thanks, Julie and Jeanne! You made my week!

I know the Post Office is considering discontinuing Saturday mail delivery due to a decreased volume of snail mail, but they may as well wait until the first of December.  These are the catalogs that came in today only:

Let the shopping begin!

What fun to receive those tasty goodies in the mail - lucky girl *S*

On Sat. delivery - they have been threatening that one for a while. Seems that most days our box looks like yours - catalogs and/or unwanted credit offers. We should all try to commit to sending out at least one hand-written letter a month. Maybe that would help and it would surely brighten the day of the recipient!

THe Halowe'en doll is fabulous -- what an original!
We've not had Saturday mail delivery since I was a little kid. Now I find out that we no longer have Saturday mail pick-up from the small post offices.
