Yep, the rumor was Marilyn Monroe was the inspiration for Tink. J-Man was watching an old game show and they portrayed it as a fact. However, when I went to double-check, we found out it was only a rumor; the real inspiration was someone named Margaret Kerry.
HarryJack's Mom had a very plausible guess--Mae West. I could see that.
